Blending Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in the Classroom

Project Information Package
This is the large-scale project overview. This package is broken down into main sections explaining the following materials
The Job Posting gives the students a detailed breakdown of all aspects involved in the project; The Application Timeline provides a measuring stick for the students to ensure they are progressing through their work at an adequate pace to ensure they will complete and submit their final product on time; The Application Expectations offer a checklist for students to use throughout their work to keep track of expectations met and can be used as a self-assessment; The Application Submission Evaluation Criteria is the rubric by which the student submissions will be marked. The students have access to this throughout the entire project so they can constantly refer back to it.

Introductory Slide Show and Intro Clip
This is a more simplified version of the instructions. Use this PowerPoint presentation to walk your students through the Information package. Only the most important information is on the slides, so it will draw extra attention to these details, but should be supplemented with extra information given by the teacher to provide a more in-depth understanding of the expectations.
Lesson Plans and Video Resource Bank
Below are the 4 main lesson plans for this project:

Lesson 1 is the introductory lesson where students consider the importance of writing in science, and gain exposure to the end goal through exemplars.

Lesson 2 is the major lesson where the details of the project are broken down and examined to ensure expectations are clear.

Lesson 3 can be used for a number of lessons as it is simply a work period for the students to progress towards their final product, and receive feedback from the teacher.

Lesson 4 is a celebration of learning where the students get to view their own, and their classmates' final videos.
